London-based music producer Andrew Dynamite has released the official video for “Plastic Body”, the title track from his latest album — and it’s unlike anything you’ve seen or heard before. Fusing a dark, synth-driven sound with surreal, dreamlike visuals generated entirely using AI, “Plastic Body” is a bold artistic statement that showcases the future of independent music and visual storytelling.

Watch the official video:

While Andrew Dynamite is known for drawing inspiration from the glossy nostalgia of 1980s Japanese City Pop, “Plastic Body” marks a clear departure from that sound. The track is moody, pulsing, and electronic, exploring darker sonic territory that contrasts sharply with the upbeat breeziness of City Pop. It’s more Blade Runner than Tokyo Bay, with icy synth textures, atmospheric beats, and an emotional intensity that builds through every moment.

The song is part of Dynamite’s new album Plastic Body, available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and over 150 streaming platforms.

A Video Born from Imagination — and AI

The Plastic Body video isn’t just striking — it’s groundbreaking. Created entirely using AI tools, specifically Runway ML, the video presents a surreal narrative where multiple AI-generated versions of Andrew Dynamite drift through eerie digital dreamscapes. These aren’t generic avatars — they’re hyper-stylized representations of Andrew himself, trained from real data to resemble him in uncanny, poetic ways.

“Using AI, I was able to train a model that could create characters that looked just like me,” says Dynamite. “But I didn’t want it to be realistic — I wanted it to be surreal, unsettling, beautiful, and weird. The result is a version of myself navigating a distorted reality, and that’s exactly what the song is about.”

In the video, Dynamite’s AI-clones appear in shifting, synthetic environments: glitching cities, glass forests, neon voids, melting digital bodies — all visually echoing the track’s themes of identity, transformation, and the tension between human and artificial. The visual language is powerful, cinematic, and distinctly modern — the kind of work that would have cost tens of thousands of dollars to produce just a few years ago.

The New Age of DIY Imagination

This video is more than a music visual — it’s a testament to what’s possible today with imagination, minimal resources, and smart tech.

“Five or ten years ago, if I had wanted to make something like this, I would’ve needed a team of animators, a studio, and a massive budget,” Andrew explains. “Now, with platforms like Runway ML and a bit of learning, I can turn my ideas into reality almost by myself. It’s incredibly empowering.”

The Plastic Body video is a reminder that we’ve entered a new era of creativity — one where a single artist can not only write, produce, and perform their music but also build entire worlds around it. For independent creators, this is revolutionary.

The Sound of Plastic Body: Darker, Deeper, Bolder

Though Dynamite has long been associated with the shimmering influences of City Pop, Plastic Body represents a more introspective, experimental side of his work.

“I still love City Pop — it’s in my musical DNA,” he says. “But with Plastic Body, I wanted to dive into something darker. It’s about how we feel disconnected from ourselves, our bodies, our identities in a digital world. It’s still melodic, still rooted in the ’80s, but it’s heavier. It’s colder.”

Fans of synthwave, dark pop, and cinematic electronica will find plenty to love here. The title track pulses with robotic rhythms and melancholic undertones, while other tracks on the album explore a range of moods — from ambient melancholy to euphoric synth anthems.

It’s a record that’s both nostalgic and futuristic, familiar and alien — just like the video.

Final Thoughts

The Plastic Body video is more than just a visual for a song — it’s a blueprint for what’s possible when artistry and technology merge without boundaries. By training AI to simulate his own image and inserting those avatars into a surreal digital landscape, Andrew Dynamite confronts the fragmented self in the age of artificial identity.

This is the sound of tomorrow seen through the lens of yesterday. It’s dark, stylish, immersive — and completely DIY.

Welcome to the future of music. Welcome to Plastic Body.
